A prime example of the so-called „put on the shelf” line of films – an emotional story about Latvian legionaries who fought against the Soviet army during World War. The Soviet authorities permitted the shooting of the film, but in the end forbade it to be shown. People saw it only 20 years late during the perestroika years preceding the restoration of Latvia’s independence.
