NAURIS directed by Leonīds Leimanis, 1957

The next step in the development of national cinematography was an original Latvian film script. It won the award in honour of the Anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution even though the film had no connection with the revolution at all. The story was about life in a seaside village, a poignant example of theatrical realism depicting strong emotions, violent sea storms, great passions and, of course, the innocent love of youth.
