THE FIRST CINEMA SHOW IN LATVIA

The first screening of Pictures of the light in Latvia took place in 1895 in Salamonsky Circus, in Riga, a little earlier than even in NewYork and Berlin. But already in 1933 Riga ranks as the third behind New York and London as far as the number of film theatres per inhabitant goes. The press of the time enthuses that in this race Riga has beaten even Berlin.
