Arnolds Burovs – Latvian Walt Disney

We have our own puppet animation films since 1965 when the director of the Puppet Theatre of Riga – Arnold Burovs together with like-minded fellows founded the puppet animation film studio. In 1966 the first film Ki-ke-ri-gu! was screened. In 2005 Arnolds Burovs celebrated his 90^th birthday. “The Burovs School” has become a legendary concept in the history of the Latvian cinema. He has been acknowledged as a worldwide authority – Arnolds Burovs is Latvia’s Walt Disney.
